Dance Teachers at DUTI Studios
Rachell is a Sydney based creative, performer and teacher. Moving to Sydney at age 16, Rachell attended Brent Street Talent Development High School before also completing the Cert IV in Performing Arts. Her training ranged from Jazz, Tap and Ballet classes to Hip hop, contemporary and salsa before discovering Afro and Dancehall. Rachell is the current title holder for Dancehall Queen across Australia and her incredible versatility as a trained technical dancer, afro-styles enthusiast and groove queen has given her quite the (great) rep.
Genevieve is a professional dancer and choreographer with a Bachelor of Dance Degree from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts. Her diverse training includes experiences abroad with programs in London, USA and China, and covers multiple platforms; with a strong focus on various contemporary techniques and styles. She has choreographed award winning music videos for artists such as Emma Louise and Lisa Mitchell and has also been awarded choreographic titles at Fast+Fresh Dance Festival and Sharp Short Dance Festival; winning ‘Best Duet’ and ‘Most Innovative Choreography’.
Cassandra Merwood from an early start in the dance studio scene she has transitioned to learning as many styles as she can and this passion for learning is seen in her work dabbling between various scenes. Some credits include ABC Kids, Dream Dance Company, Harvey Norman and she shares her knowledge weekly as part of the teaching faculty at Newtown studio, DUTI. Her end goal is to challenge and eventually alter the current ‘mould’ of the booking dancer in the commercial world and to create more jobs boasting diversity for both genders.
Sisqo is regular teacher across Australia and was the choreographer for the "Hermitude" video clip 'Speak of the Devil" which won video of the year 2012 at the Triple J awards and the video was also nominated for "Video of the Year" at the Arias.
